VARIOUS ARTISTS / “Going Out Of My Head”
“I Think I’m going Out Of My Head” is a popular “pop” song written especially for Anthony Gourdine, aka Little Anthony of Little Anthony and The Imperials. The song was composed by Alessandro (Tony) Randazzo and Bobby Weinstein. Little Anthony had left the group to attempt a solo career and he was not successful. When he returned to The Imperials and their old line up was back intact, Randazzo who was a long time friend of the group composed a string of hits for the group.
Little Anthony and The Imperials’ 1964 recording was a major hit for the group. The song went on to be covered by a wide variety of artists in diverse styles. Here are nine versions starting with the original and concluding with a definitive arrangement featuring Luther Vandross.
