She started recording in the late Fifties and was a major jazz vocalist in the Sixties. She took a 13-year recording haitus and in the Nineties re-emerged to critical acclaim and produced at least one album a year. She’s both an heir to the tradition of Billie Holiday and an iconoclastic producer of revolutionary jazz. Her name is Abbey Lincoln. We feature and salute Ms. Lincoln in this week’s BoL.
