		<description>It&#039;s maddening and obvious.  What really sticks in my craw is the way the media is portraying the US as the great saviour in Haiti&#039;s time of need.  But I suppose a history lesson about the US government&#039;s role in economically and politically destabilizing its neighbor(s) isn&#039;t really conducive to the aid drive.  The image that comes to mind is of some brute breaking both a guy&#039;s legs, offering him crutches and then expecting praise for his generosity.  Arggh.

Sort of OT:  I just watched Burn! 2 weeks ago.  It&#039;s a film loosely based Haiti&#039;s colonial period. If you haven&#039;t seen it, it&#039;s well worth the watch.
