I thought a couple of her songs were real close to being damn good. She is apparently an Eminem fan – her flow sounds like him a couple of times – especially in "Trouble Man", she even goes to being overly, ridiculously, descriptively violent in one part. Also, her song "PS" sounds an awful lot like Eminem’s "Dear Stan" from The Marshall Mathers LP.

Jean Grae was in the group Natural Resource back in the mid 90’s and she went by the name What What. They released a few 12|s but they dropped a classic with “Negro League Baseball/They lied” 12| from 1996

Jean Grae definitely has skillz. She is like a female Tupac and comparitively reminds me of Natalie Stewart of Floetry. Still, her material, while good lyrically and in presentation, is depressing. Pathos is an understatement. I guess the silver lining is that she survived it all.

If I had to pick a favorite track it would be PS. A good second would be Block Party.

It is definitely ironic to listen to her tracks prior to her mother’s work. There is definitely talent in the genes, albeit in a different musical outlet.
