This is the week of July 15th, 2007We start off with the blues—Muddy Waters, Bob Dylan, Mississippi Fred McDowell, Little Junior Parker, Johnnie Jones and Ray Charles. Then we do some experimental, Brazilian-based music with Nina Miranda and Cibelle. We close with Taj Mahal and The Pointer Sisters. Artists working out of a roots tradition, some as originators, some as re-creators, some as experimenters but all with a strong sense of self expression.
