I think that Jill Scott and Erykah Badu helped to usher this trend into modern music and acclimate young ppl's ears to the music form. We've got ppl like Amy Winehouse, Chrisette Michelle and the aforementioned in popular music...plus others who haven't yet made a splash big enough to be heard but are on the horizon. Finally...realllllll music. I LOVE IT! I am loving that young girls are referencing the jazz roots.
