It immediately grabbed my attention and became one of my favorite songs ever. And the long version is definitely the best. That to say--this is an absolutely brillant write-up by y'all, all the way through. Story: yesterday, I was in the grocery store with my son--elementary school age and already starting to form his own thoughts about music . "All Day Music" was on the sound system. I started singing the chorus: "down at the beach or a party in town\makin' love or just drivin' around..." As I sang, he scrunched up his nose and said, "You know that?" Of course, I had to "subject" him to "Platinum Jazz" today as revenge.. A beautiful give-and-take you two have as father and son. First off, big War fan here.
