Whoa!

[quote]
"...all over the country, the powers-that-be decided to build freeways to connect the newly-built suburban areas (where young white professionals were relocating) to the urban centers (where the work was). Problem was, they repeatedly built their freeways right through vibrant—though certainly not well-to-do—neighborhoods and with no regard for the black, brown and working-class white people (recent immigrants, usually) who lived there."
[end quote]

Were it only true? But, this is America! Of course they knew what they were doing. It begins with the Federal Highway Administration Act of 1956. White City Councils decided they had a way to get back at "integrationists" and their NAACP legal counsels and that was to bury their business communities under concrete and steel. To double starve us. To declare public domain over our commercial real estate paying pennies on the dollar so that said commerce would not show its head again. Then, to starve us by using our tax dollars for their salaries and public contracts and ship the dollars back to the burbs. There is no such thing as coincidence and race in the American Gulag! From Boston, MA on I-95 to Liberty City in Miami, they buried Black America. From Columbus, SC to Dallas, TX they buried Black America even as were celebrating "Brown" from which the Nation has never recovered. They've done the same thing with the prison system and by putting same on the stock market have made Black Skins a continuing commercial exchange. Wake up, Black folks!
