About this Labi Siffre joint, I used to--no lie--play this song three times a day for more months in a row than I care to admit. Yes, the break, the voice, the lyrics...

guess what's about to go back in heavy rotation? :)

one love,
Ekere

I don’t know Kalamu…this shit is waaaaaaaay out there this week.
You know the saying “Believe nothing of what you hear and believe only half of what you see”. However, the truth can be felt. I feel you…still out there though.

i LOVE bill withers. "a tender cinder"? WHAT! how did he even come up with that?

listening to these songs makes me miss male longing and love/passion from contemporary music.

two songs about the joy of simply kissing their love. funky, manly, multi-layered and grooving.

it's all taking me back to new orleans. the whistling takes me back to professor longhair (is it?)--Carnival Time?

the Meters song is what I would think the next logical step for New Orleans music would be... but well, we're wiggling on sticks and showing off our globes. sigh.

(i need ALL these songs! ya'll know where to find me!)
