Greetings. You know, Kalamu/Cyber-Baba, I am glad that you point out such contradictions, not only here but in your other work. You are probably the only man I know who has made it plain that no matter what kind of musical master Miles Davis was, his behavior was inexcusable AND I saw that poem you wrote for Ntozake Shange, what other men were willing to do that then?

Maybe just like it says something about the society that Buju lives in that his views are homophobic, it says alot about our society/us that we don't address the things Mtume mentioned about Bob. Maybe we ought to be saying, "it's a great song but..." a lot more often than we are saying it.

Anyhoo, I think the point is well taken: let's not exchange oppression for oppression.

I think this guy is a real genious.i am in Zimbabwe Africa and the story he tells in this song (untold stories) is the life we are living in our country.A proffessional cant afford to buy a new shirt from his salary. While our leaders play.Prices hiked more than twice a day.

We are suffering real bad but our leaders just cling to power and seem to enjoy our suffering.

he sings reality
