When I'm working after 6 pm, I slip CDs into my PC and exchange the headphones for miniature speakers. Well, this is the CD that brought my Indian co-workers running to my cubicle. They loved it and it is still my favorite for exercising that part of my mind that insists on wandering when I am trying to work.

It is hypnotic, taking control of the back brain and issuing it flamingly happy commands. I take it with me when running the treadmill and a half-hour passes unnoticed. This is my type of meditation music.

I think quite a few musicians in London are not afraid to make stew of ingredients we might never think to put together on the other side of the pond.

My friend, Marque Gilmore, does some beautifully wild stuff with live drum and bass and flutes and chanting from Mali and tablas and cellos and poetry and vocals. It works. Just like this selection.

this is by far some of the tightest and must fluid scratching i have ever heard. as with basketball, other folks are showing that conscious discipline can produce phenomenal results and that the american negro does not have a monopoly on greatness in these endeavors. this is really happening.
